Lady Gaga defends Ed Sheeran after her fans bullied him

In a recent interview with The Sun, Sheeran, 26, announced he’d quit the social media site after being hounded by online trolls.
“I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things,” he said.
“One comment ruins your day ... The head-f**k for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”
He then singled out Lady Gaga’s fans who attacked him online earlier this year.
“Lady Gaga’s fanbase read an interview in which they assumed I was talking about her and they all f**king hate,” Sheeran told The Sun, “And it wasn’t anything to do with that at all”.
Lady Gaga responded to Sheeran’s comments on Instagram today and encouraged her fans to “be kinder” to others in the future.
“What an incredible talented artist,” Gaga wrote next to a photo of her with the Thinking Out Loud singer.
“I LOVE ED @teddysphotos deserves all our love and respect like all humans do. I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and a part of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean. No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top.
“Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity.”
It’s believed the interview that upset Lady Gaga’s fans was when Ed Sheeran spoke to Zane Lowe back in March.
During the chat, Sheeran said: “I have to know when to listen to people otherwise I’ll end up like many of these artists that you’ve influenced over the years who you’ve seen be the biggest artist in the world and then they go, ‘I know everything!’ and then they’re the smallest artist in the world.
“I’m not trying to be the artist that had two albums and then went up his own arse and did everything wrong from there.”
For some reason, Lady Gaga’s fans assumed Sheeran was referring to the Poker Face singer and they vented their anger online.
